Our company has implemented changes in the technology of manufacturing screws for fans.

Previously, the screws were made from solid ash. However, the natural heterogeneity of the wood and differences in its density made precise balancing difficult, which could lead to vibrations during operation.

As part of the design improvement, the company switched to using timber glued from several types of wood. This technology ensures a more uniform material structure and increases the stability of product characteristics.

Thanks to this new approach, it was possible to significantly reduce fan vibrations, increasing the reliability and quality of the equipment.​

There were so many people that the space was shrinking: the sea of spectators, the dense traffic and the feeling of a big live celebration around.

It is especially gratifying that SPE "RUSBAL" is a partner of this vibrant event and a participant in the Compact 1150m3 balloon. A new model of an ultralight manned civil aircraft weighing up to 115 kg.​​

On January 11, 2026, the 21st Christmas Aeronautical Fiesta "Apples in the Snow" took place in Dmitrov, Moscow region.

29 balloons rose into the air, giving the audience the same delight and feeling of celebration.

A small competition "Hare and hounds" was held between the crews.

In early 2026, festivals were also held in Velikiye Luki, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Nizhny Novgorod, Altai Krai and Kemerovo Region, and St. Petersburg.

It is especially pleasant to see balloons of our production at festivals.

Winter, snow, bright balloons and the real magic of aeronautics..​​

SPE "RUSBAL" conducted a flight under the Program of certification tests of balloons to expand the data card.

Together with the Aerovals Aeronautical Club, a balloon with a 7000 m3 shell was tested for rate of climb.

The result exceeded all expectations!

The program also includes flights on a 10000 m3 balloon and 3000 m3 Sports.

But these are already plans for 2026.…

Until recently, Russian balloonists did not have the opportunity to officially perform a flight with an external suspension. The fastening of any structures under the gondola, whether for filming, scientific tasks or records, was outside the regulatory field. And even the relatively common raising of flags by balloon was in the same gray legal zone. Accordingly, the pilots had to make such ascents at their own risk.

But in 2025, the situation has changed, and standard thermal balloons manufactured by SPE "RUSBAL" (released later than June 1, 2013) can now fly with cargo on an external suspension.

These changes did not happen in one day, and behind them is the work of the staff of SPE "RUSBAL", which was carried out with the participation of CEO Alexander Talanov. The air record holder Sergey Boytsov became the catalyst for these works and the main customer.

At the moment when Sergey came to RUSBAL with such a request, he already had a successfully implemented project with an external suspension in 2021. But then it was done informally and was essentially a proof of concept. This approach was no longer suitable for new projects. First of all, because for a flight in Armenia, where another project using an overhead structure was planned, it was necessary to provide the relevant documents to the local aviation administration. Thus, another one was added to all the technical, organizational and flight difficulties.


Nairi Barseghyan, pilot and head of the Armenian SkyBall aeronautical club, after negotiations with officials, clearly outlined the conditions: if the platform is not included in the documentation, the project will have to be stopped. The team took this not as a barrier, but as a challenge, and continued to move forward. The goal was to organize a table tennis game, which was to be held at altitude, and a balloon was to be the carrier of the platform with a tennis table.

It was then that, together with SPE "RUSBAL", an official procedure for making changes to the operational documentation was initiated. The process included engineering expertise and risk assessment, followed by the release of all necessary documents.

For the first time in the domestic civil aeronautics were officially described:
• technical requirements for external cargo;
• maximum load on suspension points;
• recommendations for the safe operation of the external platform;
• the fastening procedure and the emergency release mechanism in case of an emergency.

Now that the project has been successfully implemented in Armenia, it can be said that not only a single interested party, Sergey Boytsov's team, but any of the operators of thermal balloons manufactured by RUSBAL, has benefited from these innovations. Fixing the external platform is no longer an experiment or a legal risk, but a documented scenario for using a thermal balloon. Legally. Officially. No workarounds.

Thus, new opportunities are opening up, including:
aerial photography and television broadcasts.;
- scientific missions and meteorological observations;
- new formats of records and air shows;
- raising flags and banners;
- skydiving and paragliding launches from suspended platforms;
- extended flight time flights requiring additional gas cylinders.

In July 2025, the arsenal of Russian aeronautics was replenished with a new high-volume balloon. This aircraft received the original name "Created by heaven". The balloon was made for the implementation of complex and daring projects, which are being carried out by the team of Sergey Boytsov, an aerial adventurer. The shell has an image of a boy, which, according to the creators, symbolizes a childhood dream.

Sergey's team already has several successfully completed projects with balloons in Russia and abroad — a boxing match on the dome of a flying balloon, a game of table tennis under the dome of a balloon, as well as gymnastic rotations on a horizontal bar mounted on a platform suspended from a balloon.

The balloon carrier of the boxing ring, and then the platform with a turnstile, became the "Binbank Premium" (or colloquially, according to the color of the shell — "Black Bean"). At the time of its release in 2016, this balloon was the first balloon with a volume of 10,000 cubic meters manufactured in Russia. He was born thanks to the idea to improve the world record for the longest stay in the air, which for many years belonged to Japanese pilots. The idea was successfully implemented in 2017 by the crew of Fyodor Konyukhov and Ivan Menyailo, and their result remains unbroken to this day.

Now, there are two balloons with a volume of 10,000 cubic meters in Russia. Both of them ("Created by Heaven" and "Binbank Premium") are made of black fabric. The black color creates the feeling of a flying giant in the sky, but it is not only beautiful, but also makes practical sense, allowing you to maximize the use of solar energy and save fuel, which is important when flying for the maximum duration.

During the production of the balloon "Created by Heaven" in SPE "RUSBAL", the experience and developments gained during record flights and other complex aerial projects were taken into account. Thus, the new balloon has incorporated all the latest Russian achievements in the development of thermal balloons.


The main tasks of the new balloon will be various experiments at altitude, for example, lifting suspended platforms, as well as attempts to break existing world records and set completely new records!​

The 4th "Flymonitor Cup" is an All-Russian aeronautical sports competition, the results of which will be included in the All-Russian rating. The current Russian pilots of the free thermal balloon are taking part.

In April 2015, the unique thermal balloon "Gerbera" took to the sky – the first balloon of SPE RUSBAL with a volume of 5950 m3, the capacity of this balloon was up to 10 people, excluding the pilot.
It was with him that a new stage of SPE RUSBAL began - the creation of balloons of increased volume.
Today, in 2025, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of this significant event.
The creation of Gerbera was an important step for the aeronautical industry. This balloon not only proved the ability to work with increased volumes, but also inspired us to further develop. After its appearance, even larger balloons were created, suitable for both record-breaking flights and for personal use.
Over the past decade, technology has advanced, and today thermal balloons ranging in volume from 5500 m3 to 10000 m3 are in operation. A special balloon of 12000 m3 was also manufactured to set a world record.
• 5500-7000 m3 is the standard volume for thermal balloons designed for 8-12 people.
• 8000-10000 m3 – balloons designed for flights of up to 20 people.
Interest in large thermal balloons has increased significantly. The projects aimed at setting Russian and world records by the Russian traveler Fyodor Konyukhov and the master of sports in aeronautical sports, pilot Ivan Menyailo, became vivid examples.
In 2017, F. Konyukhov and I. Menyailo set a world record for the longest flight on a 10000 m3 Binbank balloon created by SPE RUSBAL.
In March 2023, F. Konyukhov and I. Menyailo set a world record for the longest flight on a PhosAgro thermal balloon (volume 12000 m3, manufactured by SPE RUSBAL).
"Gerbera" has become a symbol of the creation and operation of large balloons. And who knows – perhaps in the coming years we will see balloons capable of crossing oceans or even going beyond the troposphere.

Yesterday, March 21, a seminar on flight technical operation and safety of free balloons was held in Moscow, organized
by the Russian Aeronautical Sports Federation.
The event was attended by specialists, pilots, representatives of aviation organizations and everyone who is interested in the development of aeronautics.
The seminar reviewed key aspects of the operation of free balloons, including modern requirements for maintenance, pilot training and
flight organization, raised the issue of obtaining a certificate of airworthiness for balloons with or without a type certificate, and provided
information on sports and festival events.
Special attention was paid to safety issues, the analysis of aviation accidents and measures to prevent them.
One of the main topics of discussion was changes in the regulatory framework related to aeronautics, as well as the introduction of new technologies
aimed at improving flight safety. The experts shared their practical experience, discussed current issues and suggested ways to solve them.
Representatives of SPE RUSBAL were among the experts.
The seminar was held in the format of live communication and exchange of experience, which allowed the participants to gain valuable
knowledge and recommendations.
Following the results of the event, further steps were outlined to improve the safety system and develop aeronautical sports in Russia.
Such events play an important role in the formation of a professional community, improving the level of pilot training and the introduction
of advanced technologies in the field of aeronautics.
The Russian Aeronautical Sports Federation will continue to implement educational programs aimed at improving
safety and popularizing this area of aviation.​

challenges and who will undoubtedly continue the glorious traditions of Russian aeronautics.
